The Power of Pets 🐱‍🏍

9k=

Calling a pet “just” an animal is something that a pet parent would want to contest with authority and confidence. Pet parents alone can vouch for the beauty underlying a bond between humans and animals. A pet certainly is a great companion and friend.

Unlike human friends, pets don’t complain and aren’t bound by expectations. Their love is unconditional. Research shows that living with pets has many health benefits, psychological as well as physiological. Pets can also reduce stress, improve cardiac health, and even help children with their emotional and social skills as they learn to grow and gell with society.

The number of households having a pet in Jammu and Kashmir is increasing at a remarkable rate owing to the encouragement and recommendation of other pet parents who observed benefits of all kinds from having pets around. The fast-growing pet industry is proof enough to settle the question of having or not having a pet around.

Here is a list of some possible benefits:

Good for your health

It has been scientifically proven that stroking your fluffy pet can reduce your stress levels to a great extent. Your body produces ‘feel-good’ hormones if you spend around 15 minutes patting them. In addition to lowering your blood pressure, it can also send your body to a relaxed state.

There are instances when pets have proved to be real lifesavers especially during the conditions of depression and grief. A puppy or a kitten can give you a sense of purpose and a reason to get out of bed when you are feeling particularly depressed or anxious.

Unconditional Love

Your pets won’t demand anything from you; they just seek a safe and warm shelter in addition to the basics, water, adequate food, and exercise. What do you get in return? Unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship. Cats can be a little fickle but dogs are known for their commitment and loyalty. Nevertheless, having a furry friend means you will always have a little living being, waiting patiently for you at home and ready to welcome you with a wagging tail or a purr.

CONCLUSION:

Owning a pet will change your life and bring you so much positivity, joy, and love. They help us gain a sense of responsibility, show us unconditional love, and are always there when we need them.

Dogs are more high maintenance but bring many different health benefits, whereas cats, rabbits, birds, and fish are easy to look after, need a little exercise, and give our lives new meaning and purpose.

Myakat SAFETY TIPS:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly after contact with animals.
  • Keep your pet clean and healthy, and keep vaccinations up to date.
  • Supervise children when they’re interacting with animals.
  • Prevent kids from kissing their pets or putting their hands or other objects in their mouths after touching animals.
  • Avoid changing litter boxes during pregnancy. Problems with pregnancy may occur from exposure to toxoplasmosis, a parasitic disease spread through the feces of infected cats.
